La Leche League in Shawnee
While there is currently no Group meeting in Shawnee, a La Leche League Leader continues to serve breastfeeding/lactating families in Lawton and the surrounding communities; her contact information is posted below our logo to the left.
La Leche League Leaders are trained and accredited by La Leche League International to provide individual support and help people overcome many of the early challenges of breastfeeding as well as those that may arise later on the breastfeeding journey. Leaders provide phone, email, or text support to parents seeking information about breastfeeding.
If you are seeking support and/or information about lactation-related issues, you are invited to contact any Leader as well as to join breastfeeding families at any of our other La Leche League Groups in the Oklahoma City area, such as La Leche League of Cleveland County Families or La Leche League of Mustang/Yukon--both Groups are holding virtual meetings! Please check their Group Pages for details.
Meetings can be an invaluable resource for new parents! Meetings offer mother-to-mother, peer-to-peer support for lactating parents and cover a variety of issues, including surviving the early postpartum weeks, managing milk supply, and coping with latch issues, yeast infections (thrush), mastitis, tongue tie/lip tie, and working and breastfeeding/nursing, and much more.
