What times?
Where's the info for getting on the meeting?
Anyone who is nursing or pregnant, who is interested in learning more about nursing, breastfeeding, or otherwise providing human milk for their baby, or who is supporting someone who is nursing their baby is welcome (including your children) at every meeting. For in-person meetings:
We often post new research, nursing tips, or information for nursing in a crisis (such as pandemics or tornadoes!) on our Facebook Page. Our Facebook Group is like an online meeting; if you wish to join, follow the link above and send a join request to the Leaders. We will post meeting cancellation notices on our FB Page as early as possible. Facebook Page: La Leche League of Cleveland County Families, OK Facebook Group: La Leche League of Cleveland County Families AFTER THE RISK OF COVID-19 HAS PASSED and LLL USA and LLLI say we can, WE WILL RETURN TO HOLDING IN-PERSON MEETINGS on Saturdays. We will continue to hold Zoom meetings on Thursday evenings. One possible location for in-person meetings is the Rose Rock Room in Norman's Central Library. The Rose Rock Room is the green glass-walled room to the right of the stairs and elevators on the second floor. We will bring toys for the children to share. We chat while our children play. Burning questions are always welcome, or just come to hang out with people who share your interest in breastfeeding! Our face-to-face meetings offer a space for developing a network of friends with others who have similar values for nursing their babies and parenting and for sharing your concerns and joys. We will share information and tips about a variety of issues a nursing family may experience, including surviving the early postpartum weeks, managing milk supply and coping with latch issues, pumping, yeast infections (thrush), mastitis, tongue tie/lip tie, working and nursing, and much more. Leaders are trained and accredited by La Leche League International to provide individual support and help nursing families overcome many of the early challenges of nursing as well as those that may arise later along the nursing journey. Please keep in mind that only a Leader speaks for La Leche League. Leaders will always offer evidence-based information. All others speak only from their own personal parenting experiences. While we often start a meeting with a particular topic as a conversation-starter, your questions are always welcome; we emphasize sharing and mutual support in an open discussion. |
