La Leche League of McAlester is ready to provide information and support for anyone seeking information and support for breastfeeding in Pittsburg County and surrounding communities! Rachel, the Leader, is eager to get a Group going. Rachel is available to meet your needs one on one, as well; please see the contact information at the left under the LLL logo.
Leaders are parents who nursed their own children for a year or more. They are thoroughly trained in the normal course of breastfeeding and accredited by La Leche League International after completing their training. Leaders provide both group and individual support to help people overcome many of the early challenges of nursing as well as those that may arise later during the breastfeeding journey. There is no cost to attend meetings or to contact us for support via any of the contact means we offer. Meetings offer mother-to-mother, peer-to-peer support for breastfeeding parents. Leaders cover a variety of issues, including surviving the early postpartum weeks, managing milk supply, coping with latch and positioning issues, yeast infections (what used to be called thrush), mastitis, expressing milk, tongue tie/lip tie, working and breastfeeding, and much more. Meetings are a great way to meet other parents and families in the same stage of life. |
