About La Leche LeagueLa Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing parent-to-parent, peer-to-peer, mother-to-mother support, education, information, and encouragement to those who want to nurse their babies. Leaders are experienced parents who nursed their babies for one year or more, and they are trained and accredited by La Leche League International in the normal course of breastfeeding/nursing. We offer individual information and support to help you prepare for nursing during pregnancy or during an adoption process and to help people overcome many of the early challenges of lactation as well as those that may arise later on the nursing journey. We also offer group information and support through our meetings.
ALL MEETINGS ARE FREE AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME. Meetings can be an invaluable resource for those new to nursing as well as for those who have done it before and want to maintain a support network. Meetings offer peer-to-peer support for families who are providing human milk to their babies. We cover a variety of issues, including surviving the early postpartum weeks; managing milk supply; coping with latch issues; yeast infections (thrush); mastitis; tongue tie/lip tie concerns (with referral to a qualified person for diagnosis); working, pumping, and feeding issues; and much more. Please note that La Leche League is not affiliated with any religious group. However, meetings may sometimes be held in churches, because some churches are kind enough to offer meeting space without charge. No matter where we hold our meetings, all families interested in providing human milk for their babies are always welcome. |

Mission |
Our Mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.

Purpose |
La Leche League was founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal help, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. While complementing the care of the physician and other health care professionals, it recognizes the unique importance of one mother helping another to perceive the needs of her child and to learn the best means of fulfilling those needs.
